JAZMIN ONTIVEROS HARVEY

Jazmín’s path into the film industry began at the ACLU of Southern California, where she used her passion for social justice and storytelling to create short documentaries for the ACLU. This included coverage of the homelessness crisis Orange County, as well as a campaign titled "Students, Not Suspects" which focused on the school to prison pipeline in Los Angeles County. In 2016, Jazmín co-founded Femme Frontera in El Paso, TX. In 2017, she moved to Albuquerque, NM and joined the ICG Local 600. She has worked as a camera assistant on projects such as Finch (Apple TV), The Harder They Fall (Netflix), Outer Range (Amazon), and Dark Winds (AMC). Among other projects, Jazmín was the cinematographer for the award-winning short film "Seeds" directed by Morningstar Angeline and Ajuawak Kapashesit. Most recently, she collaborated with director StormMiguel Flores on a proof of concept reel for the upcoming film "Welcome to Roswell". Currently, Jazmín is a co-founder and mentor the organizers of Border Casita Queer, a collective of queer women artists and filmmakers on the border cities of El Paso and Juaréz dedicated to creating safe, sober, bilingual creative space for queers and allies.
